From our sixth grade teachers...Written by Mrs. Back
Above all, please know we are here for you and your child. We have his/her best interests and well-being at heart. Academically, socially, and emotionally, we want your child to have the best experience possible. We understand that adolescents are at a stage in life where they might want to question rules or authority, so we strive to be consistent with discipline and dress code, two issues of huge interest to middle schoolers.
As far as contact information, we can always be reached via e-mail or phone, but phone calls are limited to our planning period which has not been determined for the upcoming school year. If you will call the middle school next school year at 743-8102, the secretarial staff can tell you when our planning period is, or take a message if you would prefer. If you would rather e-mail, all your child's teachers can be reached by e-mailing:
[email protected]
Grades are posted weekly, with midterms being printed every four and a half weeks. Please help us with monitoring your child's work, as it is easier to recoup from one or two missing assignments than several. If you would like to monitor your child's grade online, this can be done by contacting our counselor, Mrs. Hamilton, to acquire an access code.
Just a quick word about the beginning-of-the-year paperwork. We usually have someone at JumpStart who can help with that. It is very important that you complete and return all paperwork as soon as possible so we can process your child's health information, lunch information, etc. JumpStart is held in late July, so please plan to attend and meet your child's teachers.
Again, please do not hesitate to contact us if you have any question about your child! That is who and what we are here for!
